How was the run up to your wedding in Mauritius? Did you feel Westin Turtle Bay Resort & Spa catered for your every need?
“The run up was quite stressful but as would any run up to a wedding would be. You want your wedding to be absolutely perfect so you will have days of worry and feeling under pressure. You do have the additional worry that you have slightly less control when you get married abroad. The hotel actually went above expectations. It is very difficult to visualise what the layout and scenery will be from pictures. Anything we asked for they listened and delivered. The wedding coordinator was always available to answer questions the days before the wedding.”

How was your wedding day at Westin Turtle Bay Mauritius?
“We got married at 4:30pm in the garden area of the hotel. The backdrop was the beach. We had a civil ceremony, which lasted around 45 minutes. From there we spent an hour taking photos while our guests had the opportunity to freshen up and enjoy a cocktail at the mystique bar. We had hired this bar and lounge area for the reception. We cut a cake and then all sat down for a three course Indian inspired meal. We had speeches and then the DJ started the party. The party ended around 11:30pm.”

Table layout for 3 course meal. We provided favours (wedding day scented Yankee in a pouch with a tag on saying thank you) and we put selfies for each person. We also provided tea light holders and tea lights. Westin turtle Bay Resort & Spa provided floral centre pieces and name cards

What were your impressions of Westin Turtle Bay Mauritius?
“The hotel was incredible. We had a beautiful room, which opened out onto the beach. It had two private sun loungers. The hotel was very clean. The food in each of the restaurants was exquisite, especially the Kangan restaurant which served traditional Indian food. The swimming pool was even bigger than it looked on pictures. All the staff were extremely friendly. I had two massages, which were incredible. The lady who did my wedding hair and make up was very good. The hotel had various different evening entertainment, eg. singer or dancers.”

What were your impressions of Mauritius?
“We didn’t get chance to do much exploring as we really appreciated the hotels facilities. We did however take a walk along the beach and it was lovely and clean. A large variety of waters sports are available. Some of our guests went on a boat and their pictures were amazing. If we go back we would love to do the boat trip.”

How was your stay at The H Resort Beau Vallon Beach?
“The H resort was really nice. As soon as we walked into the lobby we were amazed at how lovely it was. The room was very clean. We were on bed and breakfast basis. There was a lot of variety at breakfast and the staff were very friendly. For evening meals we dined in a couple of the restaurants on the resort which were very nice and then we found a local Indian restaurant a 15 minute walk away which was very delicious. The swimming pool was quite small and intimate however, the backdrop was picturesque. Behind was a beautiful mountain and on the other side was the beach. We hired a car during our stay and travelled around the whole island. We discovered some beautiful beaches and saw a lovely waterfall.”

How was your 2 nights in Dubai at the W Dubai Habtoor City?
“After having some wind down time in the Seychelles, when we got to Dubai we were charged up and ready to go. I do strongly recommend breaking the journey up with a short stay in Dubai. All our family who went straight from Mauritius back to the UK said how tiring the return journey was. The W hotel was lovely in a great location. Again we hired a car and drove to Abu Dhabi and saw the Formula 1 race track. We also went to the malls. Both me and my husband had been to Dubai before so didn’t need to do any of the sightseeing.”

How was the service that you received from your travel agent, Lakh during the booking process?
“Lakh was very attentive during the process. He was available at all times to discuss our queries and concerns. He always had a solution to any problem. He went above and beyond to collate information and pictures to give us the greatest idea of what to expect. We had several planning meetings and he never lost his patience with us. We couldn’t have asked for anyone better to have been part of the journey with.”
